I have spent over 30 years creating art, everything from sculpting to print-making. My one true love is watercolor. It's the little things that draw my attention, and what has captured me recently is a fascination with color. I revel in how light and shadows dance across fabrics, crystal, laces and flowers. When the viewer first observes my work they experience my extraordinary depth of feeling about my subject matter. What I hear most often, "Is this watercolor?" Yes, it's transparent, staining colors. Under my control the colors have dazzling luminosity. Strong contrast is essential to unforgettable look of my paintings. I have been painting with warm colors in the center of my subject and cool colors on the parameters; this gives the illusion of glow. As if I have turned on the "heart light" of my subject.
